GENERAL RULES

In all events, the Rules of Golf will apply

Players must have an COMPETITION handicap to enter a competition

COMPETITION ENTRY

When entering a compeition you are making a committment to play on your specified tee time. Please ensure that you inform your playing partners at the earliest opportunity if you are unable to play. Failure to do will result in action from the golf committee.

SLOW PLAY

Please do all you can to ensure you keep up with the group in front and you are playing 'ready golf'. For a 3 ball individual event the golf committee expects a round of golf to be completed in 3 hours 45 minutes to 4 hours with the winter social golf events ecpecting to be played in 4 hours.

If you lose ground and have done so on more than one occassion then you may be contacted by the golf committee.

PRACTICE

With regards to practising on the course before a competition there will be an exception as far as relates to all mixed competitions, other than the Killey Cup, Roper Cup and Pyle Salvers when the Rules of Golf will still apply.

TIES

If a competition results in a tie, the following procedure will be adopted:

Decisions made in the following order: -

Last 9, 6, 3, 1 holes then first 9, 6, 3, 1 holes.

In stroke play events, the handicap allowance to be reduced to the appropriate fractional amounts e.g. ½, 1/3, 1/6 or 1/8.

All Gents Individual Competitions will be played with three divisions:

Division 1 are players with handicaps 0 - 10

Division 2 are players with handicaps 11 to 18

Division 3 are players with handicaps 19 - 28


Bank Holiday Stablefords – Both ladies & Gents will compete in the same competition with prizes being awarded on an overall basis and not per division.

All other competitions are played off FULL handicap unless otherwise stated.  ALL STABLEFORD COMPETITIONS MUST BE PLAYED OFF FULL HANDICAP

JUNIORS:  Can play in club competitions provided they have a full CONGU handicap (28 or below).  On all occasions juniors MUST play with at least two adult golf members.  Juniors may not play in events where sponsorship specifically bars them i.e. spirit medals etc except Wednesday Stableford and Bank Holiday Stableford.

Country members will be allowed to play in Club Competitions provided they satisfy the rules of Country Membership.
